Similar to the last point, you want to make sure your webpages load quickly. Use very few images and fancy coding. Mobile Internet isn’t super quick for most people, so it can take them a long time to load a page that has a lot of flashy things on it. And if the website is taking too long to load, people will more often than not just give up.

You want to avoid using any large graphics or text. Not only will it slow down the website’s load time, but it makes it hard for the user to view things. A computer user isn’t worried about how much data they view on a webpage since their Internet is most likely unlimited. But when you have a smartphone Internet plan that limits you to 250mb of data, you have to be frugal with what you view. So if people find out your website or service is using a lot of data, chances are they’ll stop using you. This is another reason to keep the number of frills your mobile site has to a minimum and rely mostly on text.

Marketing toward a smartphone user is a lot different than marketing toward a person on a computer. You have to keep the limitations that smartphone users suffer from in mind when you’re planning out your marketing campaign. If you don’t, you’ll risk losing customers and end up wasting time and money.
